Hi my name is Tamyla, i live in kentucky right now, and i really dont like it i havent really experienced racism ever since i got here, my brother fought a huge battle of cancer not to long ago, so we had to move to kentucky because of its hospitals, we cant afford to do anything we really need a miracle to get us out of kentucky maybe if someone can give us a way to get us out of here or even a vacation??? anything? please we lived here with racism for too long! i cant take it anymore……anybody please help

Thanks for taking us to the Hilo area beaches.

You can tell just by looking at the photo of the Lehia beach that the water is rough.

Is that a fishpond near the Four Mile Beach?

HECO has done a good job of educating the public on alternative enrgy sources and green practices at Sunset on the Beach and other public gatherings. I’d like to see more effort directed towards converting waste to energy. We keep creating landfills and looking for ways to ship our waste away from Hawaii. Why are we not using it to lower our dependence on traditional energy sources?

When some survey ranks you as the greenest city in America, ya gotta feel a greater sense of urgency about reducing yer emissions, right?
Wrong! And that’s what’s tragic about the Brookings Institution study released Thursday: False satisfaction (via HNLadvertiser).
Why false? Because this study’s methodology was almost designed to make Honolulu look good. I mean, take the dirty thing we do the least– like heat and cool our homes– and make that the biggest factor. Of course, we’ll score well…
