The water covered up one rock that was a foot taller than me when I went swimming in this same area a few weeks ago, so I know the water rose at least 7ft.

With all the rain falling the last couple of days (Hilo airport received 3″ in 24 hrs for Dec. 26) we couldn’t see the snow on Mauna Kea. So even though it was hidden behind all the rain clouds, we did have a white Christmas after all.
